Head Mechanic

The head mechanic’s role is incredibly important at Argonaut as they will be responsible for final assembly, QC, product testing, and shipping. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: procurement for all bicycle related parts, tracking, inventorying, and forecasting parts needed for upcoming builds. Head mechanic is responsible for all parts and accessories associated with the production of frames and stems and is required to track and monitor the status and supply of these items as they go through production. Head mechanic is also responsible for all QC and transport of parts from paint to final assembly. Once bikes are built to the highest standards, head mechanic is responsible for shipping and tracking completed bikes and updating logs. When not building bikes, head mechanic is to work on updating inventories and to perform inventory counts quarterly to ensure accurate inventory as well as assist with various other work related tasks at Argonaut’s various locations.

Education & Advocacy Coordinator

Do you want to join the movement for safer streets for people walking and riding bikes? Do you want to help educate the next generation of road users how to share the roads safely? The Bicycle Coalition of Maine (BCM) is hiring! A statewide education and advocacy non-profit, the BCM is dedicated to making Maine a safer place to bike and walk. Working with partners and advocates across Maine, we seek to change policy, improve road design, and educate adults and kids how to use the roads safely, legally, and courteously. The Education and Advocacy Coordinator position will support BCM’s Education and Advocacy programs. This position works closely with the Safety Education and Advocacy Managers to support efforts to educate kids and adults on bicycle and pedestrian safety by liaising with schools and instructors, tracking program outcomes, and participating in education events. The position will also be part of the advocacy team and will develop and implement campaigns to advance local and state policy to improve conditions for people biking and walking.
