BRB in January ✌️ We are working on practicing what we teach, so we are taking a social media break for one month to reflect on our programs & structure to make RAR more sustainable for the future.
What the crew will be up to during this period:
- Meet IRL in Los Angeles to work on org planning & ride bikes.
- Build strong foundations for all programs.
- Reflect on whether programs align with mission.
- Evaluate our business structure to remain financially sustainable.
- Navigate our personal lives.
And here’s a reflection of what we’ve accomplished:
🌟 2017
- RAR (fka WTF BX) is formed by Arya, Everett, Jocelyn, Sarah, Mary & Molly.
⛰️ 2018
- Hosted a 3-day summit in Whitefish, MT with ~100 attendees.
- Co-founders hosted free multi-day bikepacking rides in AZ, VT, OR, CA & MT.
- Awarded 5 recipients the SJ Brooks Scholarship.
🌲 2019
- Hosted a 3-day summit in Vernonia, OR with ~200 attendees ~ tickets sold out in 2 hrs.
- Launched Grassroots Ride Series with 20 trips across the U.S. & abroad.
- Awarded 5 recipients the SJ Brooks Scholarship.
📓 2020
- Launched Get Rad Be Radical publication ~ sold 1.6k+ copies since.
- Launched RAR Gravel program with 10 team members to promote diversity in gravel racing.
- Launched Cycling Industry Pledge (CIP) to help advance DEI in cycling industry
- Grew SJ Brooks Scholarship to 16 recipients.
💅 2021
- Went thru leadership and name change. Added Grande, zahra and Renee to team.
- Launched Within & Without podcast with 6 episodes
- Launched RAR Chapters program supporting 11 chapters across Turtle island.
- Cont’d Gravel program with races & gravel camp
- Launched RAR Jobs Board
- Grew SJ Brooks Scholarship to 20 recipients.
