Submit Pitch for Get Rad Be Radical

RAR is seeking content pitches for issue 02 of the Get Rad Be Radical publication!

This year’s theme is Making Space & Stepping Back. The issue will highlight BlPOC voices creating space for trans, women, intersex, and gender non-conforming folks in the cycling and outdoors community. We will center topics around community building and organizing, prioritizing self and collective care, and cultivating education and knowledge-sharing in the bike adventure community.

*By Tuesday, August 24th, RAR will email those who sent a pitch if their submission was accepted

PITCH DEADLINE:

Tuesday, August 17th at 9pm PST / 12 EST

PITCH SHOULD INCLUDE:

• What type of piece
• What the piece is about
• What it will include
• Why it’s timely to publish now (if applicable)
• Why you’re the best person to write it

FINAL CONTENT SUBMISSION SHOULD INCLUDE (ONCE SELECTED):

• 1,000 – 2,000 words, between 1-3 single-spaced pages in 12 point font, Times New Roman.
• High resolution images (photos, drawings, collages, paintings, etc) that will format properly as background designs — this means fitting into a vertical 6 inch x 9 inch page as accurately as possible.
• Google doc, pages, text document, or PDF format
• Final content will be due Friday, September 17th.

WHAT CONTRIBUTORS GET:

• Twelve contributors will be paid $420 each
• One digital and one physical copy of the publication
• RAR stickers
• Feature on RAR social media *if desired
