SUMMIT LODGING

At the second annual WTF Bikexplorers summit, we made sure to find a venue that would allow us to host all of the attendees on site at Vernonia Springs.

Vernonia Springs is an eco-friendly private park located at the base of the Northwest Oregon coast range halfway between Portland and the Oregon coast on Clatskanie and Chinook Land When the property was purchased in 2013 it had been a u-catch trout farm for nearly 70 years. The property consists of 28 acres of forestland, pastures, springs, creeks, and ponds. Amenities include glamping yurts and walled tent rentals, group camping, bicycle and tent rentals, log pavilion, straw bale day lodge, ADA bathroom-shower building, trout pond, licensed commercial food cart, fire pit area, and amphitheater. Banks-Vernonia State Trail also runs through the property which allows for bike-friendly easy access to hiking and mountain bike trails.

TENT & CAR CAMPING

Camp sites will be available in designed spaces throughout the property, with room for tents and car camping. Campers will have access to an ADA bathroom-shower building and porta potties.

WALLED TENTS

There are five walled tents on site at Vernonia Springs, which are made locally by Beckel Tents (Beckel has been producing these tents for over 50 years in SE Portland). The 12′ x 12′ walled tents are set up on wood platforms and supported by a rough sawn cedar internal frame. All the wood was harvested and milled locally. Each walled tent sleeps 3-people with a queen bed and bunk-bed (with two beds). While there will be some linen provided we recommend for everyone to bring their own (sleeping bag, pillow, and towel) Each walled tent is equipped with lighting and power to recharge your phone or computer.

If you would specifically like to share a walled-tent with a one or two friends, please make your “bunk-buddy request” at check-out.

YURTS

Vernonia Springs has five yurts on site, each is 200 sq. ft. and exceptionally clean and well maintained. Each yurt sleeps 3-people with a queen bed and two twin beds. While there will be some linen provided we recommend for everyone to bring their own (sleeping bag, pillow, and towel). Each yurt is equipped with a heater as well as lighting and power to recharge your phone or computer.

If you would specifically like to share a yurt with a one or two friends, please make your “bunk-buddy request” at check-out.
