SUMMIT DIRECTIONS

Located on Chinook and Clatskanie Lands, the small town of Vernonia is located about an hours drive north-west of the city of Portland, OR. Nestled within the Clatstop and Tillamook State Forests, this location provides plenty of options for pre or post Summit riding. The Nehalem River cradles this small valley town and its growing cycling community home to the Crown Zellerback Trail (CZ) and the Banks-Vernonia State Trail.

BY TRAIN OR BUS

Ride the rails to the Summit on Amtrak! Arrive into Portland, Union Station via the Amtrak Cascades or Coast Starlight lines. Local bus options include Bolt and Greyhound.

BY PLANE

Portland International Airport makes it easy to arrive with a bike. The airport hosts a bike assembly and repair station so that you can rebuild your ride as soon as you land. From there, ride along multi-use paths, trails, bikeways and bike lanes into town. The ride from the airport to downtown Portland is about 1 hour.
